When was the last time you worried about tomorrow?

At some point in our lives, we’ve all made mistakes that have an impact on both our mental and physical well-being. Mistakes like these make you bite your fingers off because the consequences come at the worst possible time. Many of the plans we set up get lost like sand blown away by the wind.

Here is the story of a young man who captured our compassion and empathy. Desperately looking for opportunities to make a bit of money, he got involved in the kind of scam that is all the rage in some big cities. The pandemic has spawned some great ideas and some of the darkest inventions imaginable. And yes, when there’s something good, evil is never far away.

As if it wasn’t hard enough for him to cope with the daily burdens, he gambled away all his savings, thinking he’d get a return on investment and a steady monthly income.

When he realized the deception, he was so disappointed and angry that he kept the secret to avoid comments like “How could you have been fooled?

The saddest part of the story is that he sent a message to someone (he’d recently met and seemed like a nice person) to ask him whether there was a shop where he could buy food for less; this self-proclaimed generous person never replied to his request. We can never say often enough that the day you find yourself in a bind is when you discover the true face of people.

I dedicate this text to all people facing difficulties in making ends meet but who don’t give up and do everything they can to find a way out of this financial abyss. To all who are vigilant, keep up with it. Know that life is short and that nature always provides for everyone eventually, just as the sun gets hidden in a cloud. So keep hoping and persevering, and look forward to better days ahead.
